The Rack Pack, a satire dramatization about snooker’s superbness days in the Eighties is the Beeb’s first component film for the make up for lost time administration. The film was charged as a satire, and it was surely valid for the main half. The funniness was delicate, originating from a wry acknowledgment of the time’s abundances. It focused on the contention between two of the game’s greatest stars: Alex “Typhoon” Higgins and Steve Davis, the Cavalier and the Roundhead of the amusement. It started by demonstrating an observer yawning amid the last edge of a match yet soon burst into life to the brutish hints of Led Zeppelin’s Black Dog as the blazing Higgins (played by Olivier-winning performing artist Luke Treadaway) breezed his way through the 1980 big showdown quarter-last, thumping out new child on the square Davis.
